JOB DESCRIPTION - DevOps Engineer
Our Client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to build automation and monitoring systems and tools for the Operational Analytics Services group. Turn would-be manual tasks into simple push-button operations. Design and code the tools to make our applications run in data centers around the world. Team up with application developers to turn code from git into running applications. Design our infrastructure to ingest in and serve out enormous amounts data using scaled out ingest and analysis processes.
Skills Required
- Strong Linux experience (RHEL/Centos family preferred)
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash / Python / Ruby / Go
- Strong coding experience to help with the cloud platform automation complexities
- Strong knowledge of UNIX scripting primitives (e.g. regexes)
- Strong knowledge of UNIX and Network Security principles and configuration
- Solid understanding of cloud network configurations (VPN, VPC Peering, etc...)
- Experience with config management systems
- Solid understanding of Amazon Web Services or other cloud providers and prior experience in designing and building infrastructure components in a cloud environment
- Experience with continuous delivery and automation tools
- Experience with service monitoring
- An aversion to manual processes and the desire to automate
Specific Technology Skills Desired
- Cloud infrastructure automation: Terraform
- Deployment automation: Chef or Puppet
- Database management: Cassandra, DashDb
- Building and deploying applications and release management
- Build automation: Jenkins, TeamCity, Bamboo, Travis or similar tools
- Monitoring tools: DataDog
- Understanding of CDNs (Akamai or Level3)
- Container service: Docker and Docker-related technologies
- Container management: Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose
- Consul, etcd
- Any emerging technology in the DevOps space is a plus
