Position: ETL Tester

Location: Frederick, MD

Duration: 12+ months

GC and USC only

 

Responsibilities 

They Must have prior experience with Maximus, ACS, Xerox, or ANY FEDERAL STUDENT AID project.

Top Three Skills:

6+ years of experience with the following:

1. Back end testing - SQL (being able to pull specific data from a SQL Server database)

2. ETL testing

3. Previous Federal Student Aid experience is a plus

4. IBM Rational Functional Tester for automation is a plus 

• Ensures that system software and related procedures adhere to the department standards and policies
• Participates and may lead in all phases of development and deployment
• Participation also involves the transition of software from development to production by performing deployment activities within the project life-cycle

Qualifications:

• Must be self-motivated and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
• Minimum six years of experience in SDLC (Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Maintenance)
• Experience must detail Test planning, developing testing strategies and coordinating and tracking testing progress and reporting
• Experience in creating Test Plans, Test cases and executing test cases for complex business applications preferably in student loan services
• Experience in COTS-based application system and identify limitations and impacts to testing during vendor upgrades
• Experience in Web testing supported by backend database server, 508 compliant a plus but not required.
• Strong Experience in Database and SQL knowledge preferably in SQL server
• Strong experience in ETL (preferably Pervasive) testing including batch processing.
• Strong experience in data migration and identify risks and issues due to data anomalies.
• Experience in Rational Test Suite and tools; Test Manager for managing, executing and reporting. Rational Team Concert/ClearQuest for tracking software changes
• Experience in testing ad-hoc and canned reporting applications
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, particularly in a multi-cultural environment. Ability to work with Business analysts, Developers and to resolve issues and risks
• Ability and commitment to provide assistance/coach to team members through training including and not limited to; creating training material, organize training sessions, present training material in real time to maximize cross training and internal support.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and quickly adapt to schedule demands in short notices
• Three or more years of hands-on experience with automation functional testing using Rational Functional Tester a plus
• Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and six years or more of related experience
