JOB DESCRIPTION:
MUST HAVES are expert SQL and Informatica (ETL) skills.
Pluses are Unix, Cognos and .Net. Another huge plus is experience with a scheduling tools (we use Autosys). 6-7 Yrs experience. Will be writing code in SQL, building Informatica maps, writing Autosys jils.
ROLE PURPOSE:
• Custom, Business Intelligence and ETL Development in support of the Finance, Corporate Accounting HR, Legal Compliance teams within the Janus Corporate Technology group. The team is responsible for support and development for various applications and databases using a wide range of tools and technologies. The team supports Finance, Corporate Accounting, HR, Payroll, Legal and Compliance.
• This position is responsible for the support, maintenance, design, and development of new and existing software on multiple platforms supporting critical business needs.
• Candidate must have excellent analytical and development skills, knowledge of the technologies, and a desire to learn new technologies to support our business partners. Must be able to deliver and work effectively to ensure the deliverables meet the business needs and timelines. Candidate should be comfortable with direct communication with technical, management, and business resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Improve existing data designs and design new databases and data models, including relational table structures, using Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle and SQL Server 2008 R2 stored procedures and packages.
• Create and Support the associated scheduling logic for the ETL using Janus standard Scheduling tool, Autosys
• Works with SQL Server 2008 R2 creating programming queries, and stored procedures
• Develop and Customize Cognos reports, frameworks and decision support applications using Cognos business intelligence tools
• Build and enhance Revport Reporting, Client Invoices and automation of third party feeds into and out of the Revport Application
• Installation of Windows and SQL Server based business applications for use in our environment
• Perform, Design, documentation, development, testing, installation and support of complex data extract transformation and load (ETL) programs using PL/SQL, C++, C#, Informatica 9.0 (and earlier versions), PowerCenter, DataQuality and Data Profiling as well as knowledge of data warehousing and data mart architectures, concepts and processes
• Conduct the design and development of ETL code to extract, cleanse, aggregate, and load large datasets into an analytical data warehouse, using detailed knowledge of extract, transform and load procedures, technologies, techniques and test approaches. Read and translate logical data models and use ETL skills to load the physical layer, based on an understanding of timing of data loads, data transformation, and optimization of ETL load performance
• Co-ordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure adequate capacity and performance planning of newly installed applications
• Research, design, configure, troubleshoot, document, and support vendor software and custom, in-house applications.
• Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and tasks for application features and improvements, and provide estimates and timelines for those tasks.
• Perform design, systems analysis, and development activities which may require research.
• Maintain and enhance existing software as well as design and implement new software.
• Provide production support for vendor software and custom applications as needed.
• Effectively function and communicate within a technical team consisting of developers, quality assurance, business analysts, and project managers.
• Works with Janus Technology (business analysts and .Net developers) and Janus Business resources on efforts of various scope
• Client focused, committed to excellence, strong attention to detail and a team player.
• Actively participate in requirements and design meetings.
• Works with various business departments cross functional teams simultaneously on multiple projects including business managers and directors.
• Participate in all phases of the systems development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design (including code design and code reviews), development, testing and deployment
• Co-ordinate the work of vendors and more junior systems consultants and provide project leadership on larger projects as needed
