Duties and Responsibilities
Description:
Windows Server Engineer requires a skill set to deploy, maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows servers. Engineers must be proficient in working with the full scope of Windows technologies including PowerShell scripting, package management, Active Directory authentication, volume management, system service configuration, and capacity management. Engineers will not only build Windows servers but will also be expected to evaluate, certify, and monitor systems.
Duties include:
•Support various Windows systems including 2003, 2008 and 2012.
•Provide advanced Tier III resolutions for complex customer issues
•Automate processes and procedures
•Generate scripts/applications as needed
•Document systems fully
•Build/deploy physical and virtual servers
•Provide experienced based input into operational, capacity and security standards
Interact with partner teams using standardized methodologies and procedures
•Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation schedule
Required skills
•5+ years' experience managing Windows systems in an enterprise environment
•Experience working with both virtual and physical systems
•Experience working with SAN technology
•Demonstrated ability with PowerShell scripting
•Experience developing standards and processes for Windows systems
•Understanding of DNS, TCP/IP and other networking principles
•Understanding of Active Directory architecture with multiple domains
•Ability to work through proscribed change and incident management procedures
Desired skills/qualifications
•MCSE certification
•Experience working with large scale SQL Server systems
•Experience working with highly available web and application farms
•Experience with SCCM and SCOM
•Experience working with internal and external auditors to evaluate systems' configuration and architecture
•Experience working in the financial or insurance industries
