Position              Sr. Big Data Developer with YARN

Location              Boulder/Denver, CO /  San Mateo/San Francisco, CA

Duration             6 - 12 Months

              

 

KEY SKILL:Hadoop Resource Manager (YARN)

 

As a Software engineer on our Big Data Team, you will be working on converting Client data flow pipelines into Hadoop map-reduce jobs by doing graph analysis.

You will also be working on interfacing with Hadoop Resource Manager (YARN) to negotiate and manage resources for client containers on Hadoop clusters.

You will be involved in full lifecycle of application development, from design and planning to implementation and review, from packaging and deployment to user and developer support.

 

Expect to work on hard to solve distributed systems, graph analysis problems as well as design large scale data processing techniques.

 

Specific duties include:

 

•        Design and build features in the Hadoop YARN application.

 

•        Implement and deliver high-quality features that are built for speed, scale, and usability.

•        Participation in the full life-cycle of software development.

•        Help solve customer issues as needed

 

In addition to an enjoyment of a collaborative and open working environment, you should have:

 

•        3-5 years of development experience specifically in Big Data.

•        Background in distributed systems, large scale data processing and graph processing.

 

•        Excellent coding skills with deep understanding of Java and Linux.

 

•        Understanding of Hadoop technologies like map-reduce, HDFS, YARN, Spark, cascading, etc

 

•        Good troubleshooting skills and willingness to help field and customer support as needed.

 

•        BS in Computer Science; MS preferred.  

 

 

Nice to have's:

 

•        Industry experience building and delivering high-performance and scalable systems.

 

•        Familiarity with security framework like JAAS and kerberos.
