Qualifying Criteria (REQUIRED)
· At least 3 years Java, JEE, C#, Oracle, JMS, XML
· Understands Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), software design patterns
· Experience deploying applications with J2EE Application Servers (Web logic and Tomcat)
Qualifications:
The J2EE Support Engineer will be responsible for the proper functioning and performance of applications in production
• Ability to analyze / trouble-shoot multi-threaded code
• Basics of unit-testing; write test-case to re-create the production defect and demonstrate the fix for on-going prevention
• Support the Operations Team by promptly responding to escalated consumer and client requests, incidents, and inquiries
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Familiarity with deploying applications to and administering J2EE application servers (WebLogic & Tomcat)
• Resolve production incidents identified. Resolution paths include triaging the issue and either personally resolving the technical solution when applicable or engaging other resource teams to help in resolution
• Manage multiple requests with competing priorities
• Determine new support requirements and work to establish new practices and procedure
• Accurately and promptly document work, processes, and procedures
• Provide training and assistance to first level support staff as necessary
• Conducts root cause analysis and correlation of other system and/or application problems of high complexity, and communicate findings
• Be a creative, driven and assertive Team Member always looking for ways to drive improved service and greater operational efficiencies and performance
• Be driven to learn and understand the business
• Experience supporting UI applications & web services
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (preferably Oracle)
• Ability to create and run SQL scripts and perform basic tasks in Oracle including making schema changes and loading data, experience troubleshooting
• Linux administration - Shell scripts
• Experience with installing software on Unix/Linux.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with a diverse group of personnel
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously with strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible
• Initiative and ability to tackle new projects, challenges, and concepts
• Ability to maintain support and maintain continuous integration (Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Stash, Git) stack
High level of sound logic and analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
High level of oral and written communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
