AIX Storage Engineer-

Overview:
This role will be responsible to set up the design of GPFS and DDN storage across the high
performance computing, (HPC) environment, conduct trouble-shooting and system tuning efforts as
needed to improve and maintain performance.
· Assess issues and concerns with provisioning of software (operating systems and other HPC components)
· Provide recommendations to address/remediate provisioning issues and concerns
· Implement recommendations as appropriate and/or coach client resources in the implementation of the provisioning recommendations
Requirements:
· 8+ years of experience with designing and implementing infrastructure solutions for complex and high performance computing systems composed of UNIX or Linux-based hardware platforms
· 4+ years of experience with clustering technologies
· Experience with GPFS and DDN storage including performance tuning and administration concepts
· Experience designing HPC storage solutions including backups, snapshots and mirroring
· Experience with 10GE, Infiniband, or Fiberchannel a plus
· Experience with extent-based file systems, hierarchical file systems, or distributed and shared file systems
· Experience with various HPC resource management tools, including Maui, Torque, or SGE
· Experience with HPC file systems, including Lustra, GPFS, or HDFS
· Experience with system engineering on Linux or UNIX platforms, compilers, or open source software and tools
· Experience with networking and storage systems
· Experience with security and system management best practices
· Knowledge of information security best practices preferred
· Knowledge of virtualization and Cloud technologies
