Job Description:
Senior Java/J2EE developer for a consultant position to be located in New York, NY.
Candidate will need to demonstrate strong communications skills and be able to work independently and within a team.
The specific requirements will include.
• Develop quality programs/scripts/procedures/components in support of the business requirement, utilizing the appropriate technology for each instance, and following the standards of the group.
• Perform unit and system testing on technical components to ensure they meet business requirements. Testing will include those elements developed by individual, team members, or other technology groups.
• Manage system/integration tests for the entire project, coordinating the efforts of the entire team both on a local and global level.
• Communicate effectively with management, providing timely status and project reports as required.
Qualifications
A bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science or significant related work experience in the financial services industry.
Experience
6-9 years experience in Information Systems.
5-6 years experience with Java /Web Development
Specific Technology Skills
Languages: Core Java
Frameworks: J2EE, JSP/JSF, Servlets, Portlets, EJB, JMS, JDBC, Spring/Hibernate
Presentation Layer: DHTML, CSS, JavaScript
Database: DB2 9.5 or above, SQL
Security: LDAP.
IDE: RAD
Source Repository: Extensive experience with RTC for source code maintenance and build deploy process/
Integration: Web Services, SOAP, MQ-Series, IBM Message Broker, MAPI
XML: XML, XSL/XLST, DTD
Application Servers: WebSphere 6.0 or above, WebSphere Portal Server 6.0 or above
Operating Systems: AIX, Linux
Scripting: Unix shell scripts
Additionally:
Sun Certified Java Programmer preferred
Financial Services Experience preferred
