Experience/Skillset Requirements
 
·         Experience as Sybase DBA with Sybase Replication
·         Sybase database administration experience in ASE version 12.5,15.x and Sybase Replication server version 12.6 and 15.x.
·         Experience in Sybase installation, configuration on Linux platforms.
·         Experience in Oracle Database Administration, preferably 11g.
·         Application DBA experience
·         Experience with or administration of an SAP database
·         Administered VLDBs and knowledge of performance issues with them
·         Experience with database administration within a cloud computing environment.
·         Experience with other DB technologies, especially Hana  is a plus
·         Install, set-up, configure, support and design the back-up and recovery of Sybase ASE databases
·         Experience in Database performance tuning and troubleshooting both at server level and query level.
·        Well versed with new Sybase 15.x optimizer changes, database internals, be able to apply this knowledge to trouble shoot real time production issues
·        Troubleshooting Knowledge of client interfaces to database (such as ODBC/JDBC/Sybase native client/Perl DBI/DBD
·         Predict and resolve database storage, performance, application and job issues.
·         Work closely with application development, server and storage groups to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
·         Extremely comfortably in Unix shell scripting and should have prior experience in writing scripts on AIX & Linux platforms.
·         Architect, implement, monitor and maintain database systems, data migration plans, data replication schemes and data interface projects.
·        Experience in SAP Oracle database migration to Sybase ASE.
·         Experience in database migration to Linux OS.
·         Develop data migration scripts to load system with data from various data sources.
·         Architect & develop plans and steps needed to execute data migration processes.
·         Work with users to determine data migration mappings.
·         Create data migration execution documentation so it is a repeatable process.
·         Execute data migration test and production scripts.
·         Monitor the performance of data migration software, updates/maintains as needed.
·         Create design, planning, and execution documentation and training materials for data migration staff.
·         Develop and document all data migration components of system.
