LOCATION: SAN FRANCISCO CA

RATE: 50 TO 55 PH C2C

DURATION: 3 MONTH CONTRACT TO HIRE

PHONE AND FACE TO FACE

NEED CANDIDATES THAT ARE LOCAL TO SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Job Summary

Apply knowledge and experience in web development to develop, maintain, and improve multiple company subsidiary and department websites and web based applications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create new company websites, and update existing websites with new content as requested.

- Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

- Ability to manage specific projects by leading, communicating and scheduling project team.

- Support production software operations; test and debug web applications.

- Engineer and maintain re-usable web based applications used by employees and customers.

- Continually re-evaluate existing sites and applications to improve quality and implement emerging industry technologies.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Other duties may be assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE and/or EXPERIENCE 

Required Qualifications

- Solid grasp of graphic and web design principles and a good understanding of current web technologies.

- 5+ years experience with web development.

- 5+ years programming experience, with at least 2+ years in PHP5+.

- Proficient in developing with SQL based databases.

- Proficient with Javascript and AJAX.

- Proficient in hand coding W3C compliant HTML4/XHTML.

- Proficient in UI design, graphic creation and optimization in various formats using Adobe Photoshop.  Knowledge of print media is a plus.

- Familiarity with cross browser optimization in Chrome, Firefox, IE, & Safari.

- Familiarity with MVC design patterns.

- Familiarity with the SDLC.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Knowledge of general usability principles and best practices.

 

Desired qualifications

- Experience and comfort working in a corporate environment.

- Experience with Subversion, Git, or similar revisioning system.

- Experience with jQuery, Prototype, MooTools, or similar.

- 2+ years experience with C, C++, C#, Java, Objective-C, Python, or similar.

- Experience with a Linux console, and/or basic Linux administration.

- Experience with Apache configuration options, and/or Apache administration.

- Experience with Abobe Illustrator.

- Experience with Adobe Flash.

- Experience with CMS systems, specifically Drupal, Joomla, or Wordpress.

- Experience with issue tracking ticketing systems.

- Previous participation with open source projects.
