Network Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration and maintenance of the health planâ¿¿s Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) operating systems. The Network Administratorâ¿¿s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer network(s). This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all server and network hardware, software, and communication links.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for the technical design, configuration, and implementation and installation of local and wide area network solutions between multiple platforms.
· Provide ongoing technical support to remote area networks, Internet and EDI communications.
· Responsible for troubleshooting network usage, workstations and computer peripherals.
· Develop and implement policies and standards to ensure security procedures are followed.
· Builds networks and maintains external and internal web presence, administers the networks.
· Performs system backups on its internal and external web network servers.
· Designs and supports server interface and supporting software.
· Any other duties as required ensuring the Health Plan operations are successful.
· Ensure the privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information) as outlined in IEHP's policies and procedures relating to HIPAA compliance.
· Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
· Provide ongoing proactive technical support for server hardware and operating systems.
· Trouble shooting hardware and software issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
| Education/License: | Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a major in computer science, mathematics, accounting, public or business administration, or healthcare. For non-degreed candidates, two years of applicable experience may be substituted for a year of college. MSCE preferred |

| Experience: | The following experience may be concurrent: Over 5 years experience in Network administration of facilities with over 50 Windows Servers. Three (3+) years of experience in working with current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including current Microsoft server operating systems. |

|
| Knowledge/Skills Required: | Extensive knowledge of multiprotocol systems and implementation experience with multi-vendor network systems. Techniques of systems analysis, design, and implementation, including principles and practices of project control, physical and logical security techniques, Microsoft operating systems and administration along with client/server principles and techniques. Working knowledge of Virtual Server preferred. |
