POSITION DESCRIPTION
Act as a core member of the delivery team and actively contribute to the design & development phases.
The scope of work will include:
Delivery
• Design & Development for SR & Project
• Documentation & Knowledge base
• Unit Testing
• Implementation
Partner closely with Prod Support & QA resources.
Must have 7+ years Mainframe, COBOL/DB2/JCL experience overall. Candidate must have excellent software development skills and experience following the software development lifecycle process. Candidate must have excellent analytical and communication skills including the ability to successfully convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Knowledge in the Healthcare Group
Insurance industry and understanding of its terminology is a plus.
The position requires the following:
• Collaborate with business users/developers to provide required data
• Research and provide alternatives and recommendations based on best practices and application functionality
• Understands the business processes, how the application supports the business processes and applies this knowledge to best solve problems
• Strong experience with Design and implementation of Mainframe solution
• Gains necessary input/approval of requirements and design and participates in code reviews and may perform code review for others
• Creates system and user documentation
• Develop solutions to leverage Mainframe tools and suggest process improvements
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production problems and data issues
• Validate the data in the database and also responsible for testing the routines developed
• Collaborate with requirements team to develop design specifications
• Assist users with problems and resolves issues independently
• Create test plans, test cases, test scripts and performs unit testing
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Work with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues
Essential Skills Required:
1. 6 – 7 years of Mainframe, COBOL/DB2/JCL design & development
2. Strong technical expertise in Mainframe
3. Should have more than 4 years of experience with DB2
4. Strong SQL skills including complex query building and query performance tuning
5. Working knowledge of software development and support methodologies
6. Self-starter able to take initiative and operate with minimal supervision
10. Prior experience with Off-shore team coordination
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Primary Skills: Mainframe, COBOL, DB2, JCL/PROC, Ezytrieve, Endevor, SYNCSORT, ESP,DB2 Client, Strong knowledge of writing/understanding complex DB2 queries , SDLC knowledge
Mainframe/COBOL/DB2/JCL : 6+ Years
Secondary : Domain Knowledge - Healthcare
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS DESIRED
(including team oriented, managerial skills, etc.)
1. Soft Skills - Excellent Communication (Oral & Written), Presentation along with Strong Analytical Skills.
2 Good interpersonal skills, able to work effectively on a team
3. Willing to share technical knowledge, but not in a classroom situation
