Title: Senior Sharepoint Architect
Duration: 9 – 12+ months
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will provide thought leadership on best practices for architectural design, understand the Microsoft SharePoint solution stack, and have a thorough understanding of enterprise application integration involving Business Process and Forms, Collaboration, Enterprise Content Management, and Portals.
This person will architect and perform design reviews for SharePoint projects that focus on planning, deploying, and targeting new or significant modifications of existing enterprise SharePoint implementations. They must provide individual or project support for complex projects and applications, adhere to project timelines and technical deliverables. This role requires a proven technical skill set that has been demonstrated in the development of enterprise Line of Business applications and their integration into heterogeneous enterprise systems.
MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES
Software Development
· Deep expertise in the following:
o Microsoft Enterprise Content Management and Collaboration technologies (SharePoint Portal Server / Windows SharePoint Services, Content Management Server, Office SharePoint Server)
o Programming with .NET Framework: Complete from back end to Windows or Web Forms front end Enterprise integration technologies (Microsoft BizTalk, MSMQ, Web Services, Remoting)
· Experience with SharePoint workflow, designer and security framework
· Experience with K2 Blackpearl workflows
· Configure and maintain document libraries, lists, and WSS site collections and deploy SharePoint at the enterprise level in a distributed global environment.
· Maintain and follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies on all projects
· Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives
· Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed
· Develop and execute QA routines to ensure quality of software
· Assist in the planning and deployment of software releases
· Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns
Business Analysis
· Develop a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users to define technical and process requirements
· Develop and document functional requirements for analyzed business needs
· Identify and recommend best approach to solve business issues
· Document business requirements and create detailed requirements for proposed solution changes. Analysis includes user requirements as well technology requirements.
· Strong interaction with end users and business sponsors required
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Training: Bachelors Degree. Certifications with the applicable Microsoft technologies.
Experience: 5+ years solid experience in Business Application Software design and development
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Technical Skills
· Sharepoint : SharePoint Server 2007, 2010, 2013 (MOSS).
· K2 Blackpearl Workflows
· Languages : C# --- demonstrate other relevant experience
· Web applications: .Net, MVC, Entity Framework
· RDBMS: Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS -Reporting Services, SSIS and SSAS. Sybase experience a plus.
· Scripting: SQL required, Stored Procedures,
· Operating systems - Windows, UNIX a plus
Additional Experience / Skills
· Investment industry experience preferred
· Strong data awareness and understanding required.
· Exceptional software development skills.
· Strong business acumen and service orientation.
· Professional approach to work, including strong verbal and written communication skills
