HIRING MANAGER NOTES:
100% Cisco shop. So experience with Cisco Virtualization tools is a must.
Responsible for the design, plan and build of new data center.
Must have data center migration experience.
Moving large Vegas facility and smaller HQ center to a new COLO facility here in PHX.
Very hands on, technical role.
This is an architect's dream job according to manager.
Come in, design and plan the whole migration, new space and then move on after everything is implemented.
Canned JD:
In this role, the Senior Virtualization Engineer will work collaboratively with architects, infrastructure engineers, applications teams and Technology Architecture & Business Development across the organization.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade and support VMware on various hardware platforms within large global data centers
• Configure and deploy various server platforms
• Diagnose and trouble-shoot VMware and other related technologies
• Adhere to engineering and architecture standards and participate in technical review meetings as required
• Participate in the evaluation, deployment and management of new technologies in alignment with other engineers and architects
• Incident support and participation in on-call rotation during off hours and weekends
• Create and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books and other technical engineering documents
• Consistently demonstrate initiative and commitment to optimizing systems and processes
