Personnel Qualifications:
At least seven (7) years of experience in one of the following areas:
Advanced operational support, maintenance, and monitoring of mainframe, System z and related infrastructure components.
Specific advanced z/OS and z/VM generalist knowledge and experience spanning SMP/E, TSO, JES2, NetView, System Automation, SAS, DFHSM/SMS, DASD, UNIX System Services, DB2 as well as the ability to interact with third-party sub-systems such as ACF2, MIM, and CA-Common Services.
The scope of responsibilities includes installing and maintaining software, monitoring performance, tuning system, maintaining backups, developing and implementing storage strategies, DASD replication, disaster recovery support scenarios, and problem resolution including troubleshooting and working with other teams to ensure 24×7 mission-critical applications availability, reliability and performance.
This is a long-term position for an experienced z/OS systems programmer with a broad support background.
Qualified applicants will have a solid mainframe support background that includes z/OS installation, maintenance and troubleshooting as well as systems programming support in two or more of the following areas: VM, Linux on z, DB2, networking (VTAM, TCP/IP, Connect:Direct), storage management (DFSMS-DFP/DSS/HSM).
Detailed and specific experience:
•Specific advanced mainframe z/OS and z/VM generalist knowledge and experience spanning SMP/E, TSO, JES2, NetView, System Automation, DFHSM/SMS, DASD, DB2, and supporting third-party sub-systems such as ACF2 and other CA products is highly desirable.
•Skills in other areas such as ACF2 security, MXG, SMF record extraction and analysis, process automation (REXX), WLM, CA product support, and BMC Mainview for DB2 (including reporting tools), and Informatica Power Exchange for DB2 on z/OS to facilitate data transfers are all pluses.
•Specific proficient knowledge and experience of advanced virtual tape, storage, data replication, automated operations and how to interact with them is highly desirable.
Note: We are working with Tier-1 vendor requirement.
