 Must Haves:            

- Associates degree in computer programming or relevant field
-1-2 years as IMBI DB2 DBA

- knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Oracle,

· Hands-on DB2 for IBM i (iSeries) experience
· Hands-on SQL experience–writing, executing, and optimizing efficient queries

Plusses:

Bachelor degree preferred

 

Day-to-Day:

Summary: Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard the computer database.

- Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
- Modify existing databases and database management systems
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system

For iSeries: 
· Hands-on DB2 for IBM i (iSeries) experience 
· Hands-on SQL experience–writing, executing, and optimizing efficient queries 
· Logical and physical data modeling and database design 
· Database creation, maintenance, and management in Cool 2E, DDS & DDL on IBM I  
· Database performance monitoring, tuning, and management through 

working knowledge of Performance Navigator and ISeries Navigator tools
· Indexing strategy and management 
· SQL code reviews and optimization for projects 
· Familiar with database RI and constraint for data integrity 
· General systems management and networking skills 
· Develops and implements standards and best practices 
- Follow CDW standard coding practices when creating database code

Organize and order database objects for deployment to test and production systems through PTC to modify existing or build new database
· Advocate on behalf of our DB2 database and our IBMi platform. 
· Work with Development and Infrastructure teams to understand and implement technologies aligning with the near and long term direction of the IBMi platform. 
- Work with IBM I Sys Engineers on Power 7 SSD if CDW moves in that direction

- Work with IBM I Sys Engineers on any DB Mimix replication or production performance issues

· Preferred: SSD to SQL Table Conversion experience
