Job Summary:
The Client Reporting Senior Business Systems Analyst will have a prominent role in working with internal stakeholders and IT peers to improve the time to market for MFS' client reports and marketing materials. This work will be completed following Agile/Scrum methodology throughout 2017, but in some cases, work may be completed using Waterfall. Additionally, the Client Reporting Senior Business Systems Analyst will play a key role in enhancing and supporting our Client Reporting Tool, Coric, and the reports produced out of Coric.
This will require meeting independently with management and business partners at all levels of the organization to gather business requirements, developing and maintaining specifications that clearly outline the key requirements elicited from business users, working with external vendors and internal IT development resources to develop, test, and deploy system and report code updates.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Meet with key stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements related to enhancing MFS' automated reporting processes and systems. Deliver world-class print solutions aligned with MFS goals and strategies.
· Create business requirement artifacts including but not limited to User Stories (including Steps of Doneness), annotated wireframes, detailed work flow diagrams, use cases, business process flows, and data flow diagrams.
· Work to understand internal client's business needs above and beyond the immediate requirements and convert them into functional specifications. Work with business units - Global Investment Support (GIS), reporting teams, compliance, legal, retail and institutional marketing - to gather requirements, set timelines, and prioritize product backlog.
· Liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure proper implementation of requirements within the expected timeframe. Coordinate implementation of requirements and communication with business units.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
· Minimum 4 years working as a Business Systems Analyst.
· Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with 5+ yrs. professional experience in application technology, ideally working for an investment management firm.
· Heavy hands-on experience and strong working knowledge of investment management data and/or client reports.
· Experience as a dedicated member of a scrum team, have proven knowledge of Agile / Scrum methodology.
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to negotiate and influence critical decisions.
· Ability to write clear and concise business requirements.
· Ability to present technical concepts in business terms when eliciting, validating and prioritizing requirements.
· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks under tight deadlines.
· Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to make independent decisions.
· Proven ability to develop creative solutions to meet business needs.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff at all organizational levels.
· Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work well in a challenging, fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience with Client Reporting, Client Reporting Software (ex. Coric & Vermillion), and investment product marketing materials (ex. Fact Sheets)
· Strong SQL Skills
· Experience managing all phases of the SDLC
