My Client is looking for  Devops Engineer

Job Title      :  Devops Engineer

Location      :  Washington DC

Duration      :  12+ Months( Chance of extension)

 

Can Submit only Local or Tri-states...

Must Have:

Linux Ops / SysAdmin Skills, including software deployment, capacity planning, support (on-call rotation required), etc.

Deployment using Ansible (may accept Puppet or Chef as if they understand the concepts, they can learn Ansible pretty quickly).

Docker

DevOps experience - working in an operational capacity with a custom app development team.  Understand what it means to support a high-profile application.

Experience with Java Applications

 

Job Description:

Operationally minded

Adept at succeeding in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Experience in Linux (at least 5 years).

A solid understanding of IP-based networking to include DNS, load-balancing, GSLB, and HTTP response codes.

Experience in Deploying and Managing several of the products listed below:

Apache/Tomcat

SOLR/Lucene

Hadoop

Couchbase

Azkaban

MongoDB

Cassandra

RabbitMQ

Experience in some of the management products listed below:

Ansible

Puppet

Capistrano

Splunk

OpenNMS, Naggios, Op5, or similar SNMP-based Management System

Excellent communication: must be a good listener and be able to clearly communicate ideas.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with development team in a DevOps model to provide operational guidance on making the platform more resilient, easier to manage, and scalable.

Perform production deployments once code has successfully passed QA.

Troubleshoot issues as they arise, reaching out to QA and developers as needed to resolve in a timely manner.

Perform on-call duties (on a rotation), to include a series of manual daily health checks of the system, triage of trouble tickets, and initial troubleshooting steps for any operational issues that arise.

Address any systems issues (security vulnerabilities, systems patching, etc.) as applies to roughly 700 computer systems the team is responsible for.
