The ideal SOA Requirements Analyst possesses the following competencies: 

Required: Strong experience in Web Service requirements, including knowledge of WSDLs, schemas, and other web service standards Strong understanding of XML Understanding of core Service Oriented Architecture concepts Experience with Provider to Consumer mappings and transformations Desired: Experience with Websphere Registry and Repository Experience with Gherkin Experience with Story Cards Experience working in an environment using Agile/Scrum practices Experience working on multiple projects at once. 

Facilitates requirements workshops with Project Business Lead to define and document business goals, processes and practices to provide input to solution requirements 

Interfaces with Business SMEs and end users to develop business process models, Functional Requirements, Specifications (Use Cases), business rules, user interface requirements, High Level Features and EPICs 

Directs all activities related to solution requirements definition (functional, non-functional and information requirements) and documentation (e.g., Business Context Diagram, Business Event List , business process models, use cases, Business Rules Catalog, etc.) 

Works with testing team on risk based testing 

Identifies data conversion needs and parameters 

Supports creation, management of risk scores and Testing Risk Book 

Works with business SME to identify data needed to convert at end of project 

Maps data to be cleansed and converted from source to target 

Creates risk mitigation plans for conversion 

Participates in development of conversion process 

Ensures the integrity of the Business Process Design and translates the business process design into solution requirements 

Defines scope addition and reduction criteria and validates scope adjustments meet defined criteria
