Role: Big Data and/or Business Intelligence
Location: Hopkins, MN
Contract: Term is 6+ months
Phone hire is fine, but locals will receive priority
Experience: 2-4 years on BI
Please note this is a Business Analyst role but the person must have experience working in Big Data and/or Business Intelligence (Reporting like Business Objects, Tableau or PowerBI) projects and have worked within an agile development environment, too. Sourcing Notes –
• Looking for experienced project business analysts with a background in data requirements gathering, data mapping, and functional design.
• One BA will work on a scrum team to create a data lake for the Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate BA.
• The other BA will work on a scrum team to create Finance Management Dashboards. For this role previous SAP experience would be beneficial.
As a Data & Business Intelligence (D&BI) Senior Business Analyst, you will work on an agile scrum project team to design, develop, deploy and support solutions that leverage the Cargill big data and advanced analytics platform. The ideal candidate has previous agile scrum project experience creating requirements backlog, data mapping (source to target), and performing functional testing for sprints. Knowledge of designing for Power BI and Tableau dashboards needed Previous experience working with big data would be ideal.
Primary Accountabilities:
• Create, manage, and prioritize backlog with Product Owner in alignment with project vision
• Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions with Product Owner, Business SMEs to define data that will be brought into Hadoop from source systems.
• Perform functional testing and assist with resolution of defects.
• Perform reviews with key stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle to ensure alignment and requirements coverage. This may include, but is not limited to the following activities: design reviews, testing execution, deployment verifications, and customer satisfaction reviews.
• Create supporting design documentation to ensure sustainment of the solution.
• Champion collaboration and enable delivery in an agile team environment
• Applies a substantial understanding of business analytics to determine best practices, and recommends how to improve current practices.
Required Skills:
• 2-4 years business intelligence experience working with Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects or Crystal tools.
• Past business analyst experience in an agile scrum environment.
• Past project experience as a data analyst, or has knowledge of working with data integrations.
• Curious about data and passionate to bring business value through data insights and advanced analytics.
• Strong collaboration skills to translate their needs into a technical model or solution.
• Demonstrated ability to be successful in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience facilitating meetings and/or group discussions.
• Strong information research and gathering skills
