Description

The Application Support Software Engineer will be a member of a small application support and development team that deals with both customer facing and internal proprietary systems. The position involves coding, unit testing, debugging new and existing software, performance tuning and optimization of existing code.

Duties

• Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects develop, test, document, and maintain web based business applications built with PHP and MySQL.
• Resolve routine and complex production application support issues including coding, and unit testing of applications in accordance with established standards.
• Provide technical guidance to fellow team members through discussion and formalized peer review
• Work with team lead to prioritize support tickets, analyze and provide feedback to users on technical requirements
• Work with the QA team to develop and execute test plans for code modifications

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years' experience as a Software Engineer
• 3+ years' experience working with object oriented PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Experience with source control systems and development workflows
• Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
• Ability to work from rudimentary requirements and specifications

 

Desired Experience

• Experience working with Zend 1.x Framework or other MVC frameworks
• Experience supporting database-oriented enterprise applications
• Experience with support issue tracking software
