Role: Mainframe Developer
Duration: About 7+ months
Location: NYC, NY
Need Only GC/USC
MANDATORY
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent, in a technology related field or other degree preferred.
- Basic familiarity with Mainframe systems and IBM z/OS
- 6-8 years of hands-on development expertise using COBOL/CICS/JCL on MVS/VSAM based Mainframe systems.
- Ability to develop business requirements and estimate for delivery commitments.
- Exceptional written communication, oral presentation, and leadership skills.
- Experience with TSO/ISPF, WebConnect, VTAM/SNA and RACF security.
- Experience in workload processing and system performance metrics.
- Familiarity with at least one relational database management system (MS-SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL/
PostgreSQL/DB2). - Familiarity with Microsoft Client/Server and Web-based application development
- Strong analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies in order to perform tasks at hand.
- Proficiency with Waterfall, RUP and Agile SDLC processes.
- Team player who can establish excellent working relationships with peers and other teams.
- Utilize application development environments, tools and methodologies across multiple platforms.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Applications.
DESIRABLE:
- Technically proficient in more than one language and platform.
- Experience in ADABAS/Natural legacy Mainframe systems.
- Development knowledge on Microsoft .NET or OpenSource technologies
- Expertise and knowledge of building large-scale asset management systems.
- Experience with version control and release management principles.
- Prior experience in federal/state/local government projects.
