RE:DSNY's SCAN support EPIN REQUIREMENT

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

Under the direction of DSNY Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT Management team, working with the SCAN Support Team managed by the SCAN Manager the contractor will be responsible for the following:

• Provide technical advice for various projects, with particular emphasis on ensuring continued operation of the ADABAS legacy systems.
• Implement replication of Production ADABAS database to SQL Server database, including infrastructure setup, subscription design, and implementation of operational and recovery procedures.
• Design, code, and implement web services using EntireX in order to expose portions of the legacy databases as required by the development of various projects outside of SCAN.
• Maintain and enhance existing Natural applications.
• Perform mainframe DBA duties for the support of ADABAS, Natural applications, EntireX and Event Replicator. Maintain ADABAS data storage and file structure, Natural & TSO user account security, RACF/WITS Security, VMCF/VPS printing. Maintain all current SCAN mainframe environments.
• Maintain all current Windows servers. Perform Windows Server migration to WS2012.

 

SCAN Senior Technical Specialist –

Under the direction of the CIO/IT Management and the SCAN Manager, the specialist will design, develop, implement, document, maintain, and support DSNY's legacy IBM mainframe SCAN applications and all of their interfaces.

• This position requires a minimum of 15 years of experience in application architecture and design on large scale IBM mainframe environments with technical expertise in TSO, JCL, COBOL, ADABAS / Natural, Production Support methodologies, principles, and testing.
• Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Production environment with Software AG's middleware products such as Adabas SQL Server, webMethods EntireX, and Event Replicator.
• Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in data migration and replication between Adabas and Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle.
• Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in web service development and web based database application development using Apache, Tomcat, PHP, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle.
• Applicant should have Knowledge of DSNY's SCAN applications, their interfaces with other systems, other related Agencies' applications and DoITT's mainframe environments.
• Applicant should have a working relationship with various DoITT mainframe support groups.

 

SCAN Support Specialist –

Under the direction of the SCAN Manager, the specialist will code, document, maintain, and support Department of Sanitation's (DSNY) legacy IBM mainframe SCAN applications.

• This position requires a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in mainframe application development with technical expertise in ADABAS / Natural, TSO, JCL, and COBOL.
• Applicant should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working for New York City agencies with legacy applications doing application support which includes, but not limited to, Natural & JCL coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Applicant should have Knowledge of SQL, and InfoNaut.
• Applicant should have Knowledge of DSNY's SCAN applications and DoITT's mainframe environments.

 

Project background and System Description is section 1.1 and 1.5 respectively.
