POSITION: Business Analyst with Fixed Income Trading

Job Overview:

 

The Business Analyst will be a part of the Business Analyst team providing fixed income trading technology and connectivity solutions.  The position will require some travel to client sites and interaction with the client's end users and MarketAxess product managers and both the client's and MarketAxess's technologists.

 

Primary responsibilities:

-          Talk to end users and technologists at the client in order to research and determine the business requirements for the client engagement

-          Analyze, design and specify functional requirements and enhancements to existing MarketAxess systems

-          Communicate verbal and written business and functional requirements to development and QA

 

Secondary responsibilities:

-          Assist in QA testing of new and enhanced software

-          Assist in coordinating between development, QA and business units impacted by changes in requirements and design

 

Job Requirement:

 

-          Five  to ten years of experience at writing clear and detailed requirements specifications in a business analyst (or business analyst type) role

-          An ability to quickly understand the business requirements and technical constraints relevant to a new or enhanced product, and to conceptually integrate these into a viable functional solution

-          Excellent process and logic skills, including the ability to analyze and design new data representations flows for the evolving fixed income and credit derivative electronic trading market

-          In-depth understanding of processes involved in the SDLC, including formal tools

-          An ability to analyze the functional and logical aspects of external and legacy systems, and integrate these with new or enhanced system requirements

-          Ability to write SQL, and a fundamental understanding of database design, middleware, and object-oriented code.

-          Excellent communication skills and presentation abilities.

-          Skilled at explaining complex concepts / processes to people with varying abilities and backgrounds

 

Preferred Qualification:

 

-          Knowledge of trading and post-trade processes in the US fixed income and credit derivative markets

-          Knowledge of FIX
