Job description:
Application/Software Developers are involved in the full system life cycle and therefore are responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application/integrating software solutions that are delivered on time and within budget.
Works closely with clients, business analysts and application team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and are in compliance with the organization's architectural standards.
Application/Software Developers are involved in the full system life cycle and therefore are responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application/integrating software solutions that are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities beyond development of software may include participation in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing processes and buy vs. build recommendations. Individuals also provide input to project plans related to the Application Development initiative. Bachelor Degree & 4 years of experience, OR an Associate Degree or certifications (equivalent to 2 years) & 6 years of experience, OR a high school diploma or GED, & 8 years related experience.
Candidate will work in design, build (or enhance) and support applications and services that provide integration solutions between critical vendor products, other business applications and technologies. Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills as well as good oral and written communication skills. Candidate will work in a collaborative team setting.
Required to have knowledge and experience with:
1. SQL and data extraction tools with Oracle, SQLServer and DB2 databases.
2. Source and version control tools/products (Clearcase, Subversion)
3. User Interface Design knowledge and experience
4. Java-based development tools and technologies
a. EJB and Message Driven Beans
b. Hibernate and Spring Frameworks
c. JSF / RichFaces
d. Experience design and construct portable code on platforms such as Websphere (8.x) and WebLogic (12.x)
5. ETL Tools (Business Objects) knowledge and experience
Desired to have candidate with knowledge and experience with:
1. Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Technology – building scalable SOA/Services using:
a. IBM DataPower
b. IBM Broker
c. IBM MessageQueue
d. Using Stylesheets (XSLs)
2. Ability to create design artifacts (such as sequence diagrams, class models, data flow diagrams)
