Description ::
Smart Hands Engineer required to perform Infrastructure audit of Data Center equipment.
Hands-On Experience with Network Equipment:
Installation, high level configuration experience, knowledge of server environments, storage environments, Firewalls, Operating systems.
Typical system experience in Racking & Stacking: HP, Dell, EMC, CISCO, diverse Hardware background. Linux, Windows various Operating systems, Cabling.
6 plus++ years experience with current working functional knowledge of the following areas:
• Onsite/offsite technical assistance and troubleshooting
• Equipment installations and configurations
• Ladder racking, pre-wiring of patch panels and equipment
• Interface card removal, installation and configuration
• Testing media for continuity and proper signaling
• Providing visual verifications to assist in remote troubleshooting
• Inventorying/labeling of equipment
Device Support: Rack and Un-rack equipment; Rack Technologies; Hot Part Replacement; Power Cycling (Reboot); Rack, Cabinet, and Cage Management, Power Monitoring; Cross Connecting Infrastructure; Power Cycling of Equipment; Patch Cord Installation; Equipment Assistance: Verifying KVM Availability, Verifying OS, Verifying Storage, Storage Arrays both physical and Locical; Equipment Installation; Software Installation; Infrastructure Data Cabling; Equipment Inventory Techniques; Hardware Replacement techniques and strategies;
• Capable of assisting in hardware implementations for network, mid-range and open systems. Assist in hardware installation and project coordination. Perform configuration preparation of equipment per client specifications.
• Installation of structured cabling, copper and fiber
• Capable of assisting in the operations and systems management and support of integrated, racked systems technologies
• Capable of assisting DC management ensuring systems availability, updating documentation, reflecting Data Center Hardward locations, Rack Locations and elevations,, cabling paths and cabling runs.
• Capable of assisting DC management in the installation and relocation of all network, midrange and open systems hardware.
• Understands how to perform data gathering off Servers, Storage, Network devices and Network Switches and problem determination on these platforms.
• Script writing a plus in these environments to provide automation of data gathering (OS, Storage Type, Server Type, storage arrays
