Responsibilities/Required Skills:
• Plans site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality.
• Evaluation of the navigation and layout of the current website.
• Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with graphic artist; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to DTS.
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows,process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to stakeholders.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
• Writing and editing content; selecting and editing photographs for inclusion.
• Incorporate client responsive design template.
• Proven web design/development experience.
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows,process flows and site maps.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
• Up-to-date skills with the latest web trends,techniques, and technologies including animation, multimedia design, and video and audio.
• Working experience with web responsive design software; such as Front-end or Bootstrap.
GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR PRINT/BROCHURE:
• Evaluate existing graphic design status of print materials.
• Research, gather, and curate photos and images for future graphic layout work.
• Develop poster templates.
• Produce educational brochures and other outreach materials.
• Modify and update existing graphics for print and web.
• Create new graphic layouts for print and web.
• Coordinate with the client's print and web vendors.
• Provide recommendations as to structure, lay-out, and style of graphics in relation to text For print- and web-formats.
• Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure that graphics will work in mobile platforms, e.g., smartphones and tablets, and that graphics intended for website use comply with Americans with Disability Act ("ADA") requirements.
Skills:
• BS/MS in Visual Arts subject.
• Trained, experienced, and proficient with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge and experience with responsive website.
Miscellaneous:
• Experience with building, permitting or licensing websites and graphics.
• Experience administering social media and/or cloud applications platforms specifically GovDelivery, Google Analytics, Trumba Calendar, Wufoo systems to include account and access management.
