Primary Responsibilities & Objectives
Plan, coordinate and implement technical support for security infrastructure reporting as well as Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) system, (for example SPLUNK) and ensuring logging and monitoring processes are effective and working
Serve as a technical security resource and administrator for Malware protection and alerting tools, including the use of Malicious Software tools, such as BIT9/Carbon Black, Symantec and computer incident security response layered defense tools
Assist in maintain and monitoring and tuning Intrusion Detection tools( for example, Palo Alto) and Data Loss Prevention Systems
Review technical output, alerts and investigate and resolve events from security monitoring systems (e.g.: IDS/IPS, Managed Systems Security Provider, honeypots, DLP, antivirus, network-based anti-malware systems, etc.) from identification through remediation and lessons learned
Technically configure, tune, maintain, manage and monitor security defense systems
Work as a member of computer incident response team
Sound technical understanding of network system controls, such as configuring firewall rules to block/accept and/or mitigate any risks to unauthorized access attempts
Perform incident response and function as an Incident Response Team member
Work on security-related projects, including assessment, design, and deployment of configuration management systems, (thorough understanding of and perform regular security assessments of existing infrastructure
Use network vulnerability scanning software and manual testing to find OS and (non-web) application vulnerabilities
Assist with remediation of vulnerabilities (e.g.: by applying patches, updating configurations, etc.)
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
3+ years of Information Security engineering and infrastructure support experience
Excellent technical computing and network security skills
Strong technical skill set, work ethic, demonstrated self-starter, ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong technical aptitude, a desire to learn, and a very strong interest in security
Excellent understanding of common web-based vulnerabilities
Strong knowledge of IDS/IPS, packet/traffic analysis and related tools
Systems administration background preferred
