Position: Server Engineer
PAY RATE: $55.00 c2c all inclusive

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Server Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operational oversight of Client Digital Services server infrastructure. The Server Engineer performs a wide variety of complex technical duties which include, but are not limited to analysis, design, installation, modification, documentation, maintenance, problem diagnosis, and repair of all server technology hardware and software. The incumbent also provides hardware and software technical guidance to core IT administrators and remote sites.
Essential Duties:
- Complete understanding of Active Directory and Exchange 2010 in a multi-domain environment; also, provides Tier 3 (Advanced) support
- Complete understanding of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2012 operating systems
- Complete Understanding of Centralized Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS) using Fibre Channel or iSCSI protocols
- Strong Understanding of VMWare virtualization and cloud technologies
- Investigates, designs, install, configures and monitors all business critical application servers
- Diagnoses and resolves problems on all types of technology related hardware, software, and transmission devices/media
- Identifies trends and recommends system improvements
- Coordinates use of technology resources with user's needs and provides technical services for IT projects
- Researches and install new software releases as well as documents, reports, and follows-up with technology team and vendors regarding products and services, change and repairs
- Monitors and audits system rights and usage to ensure the security of data and access privileges
- Test new software solutions to insure the output conforms to organizational needs and business requirements
- Participate in a rotating on call schedule which supports the critical services AEG DS provides to our internal and external customers
- Accomplishes financial objectives by providing input to the forecasting and annual budget preparation processes
- Stays abreast of current equipment, services, supplies, hardware and/or software in order to make recommendation on software/hardware upgrades and/or enhancements
- Establishes goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifies and evaluates trends and options; chooses a course of action; defines objectives; and evaluates outcomes
Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum of education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)
o Area of study: Information Systems, Computer Sciences or related technical field (education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted for degree requirement)
- 7+ years related work experience
- Knowledge of deploying and configuring HPE Server hardware (rackmount and blade technologies)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office365 (Exchange Online, Skype for Business, OneDrive for Business)
- Knowledge of integration of line of business applications with Active Directory Infrastructure
- Knowledge of PowerShell and other automation frameworks
- Knowledge of Backup, Restore, & E-Discovery processes and technologies (Backup Exec & EMC Avamar a plus)
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL a plus
- Knowledge of HPE Storage a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange in a Hybrid/Coexistence Topology a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM a plus
- Knowledge of ServiceNow IT Service Management a plus
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and networking protocols
- Ability to adhere to a Change Management Process based on the ITIL framework
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to create and write clear, complete documentation including policies/procedures and diagrams
- Extremely high level of attention to detail and quality of work.
- Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
- Requires personal transportation for job related travel, as assigned
- Comfortable working independently with little supervision when required
Preferred Qualifications:
- MCSE, MCITP-EA, VCP, ITIL
