IT Infrastructure Project Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall administration and management of large-scale IT projects from assessment, design, development, quality assurance, production deployment and initial production support.  In addition, responsible for developing and tracking schedules and budgets; planning and fulfilling staffing requirements; preparation and delivery of status reports, technical / strategy / executive briefing documents; subcontractor management; proposal preparation; etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Performs overall administration and management of IT projects from assessment, design, development, quality assurance, production deployment and through initial production support

·         Facilitates project or program planning, risk analysis, scheduling, personnel staffing and  management, task management, budgeting, organization of project reviews/weekly meetings, management of vendors/subcontractors, reporting requirements, and inventory control

·         Evaluates trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder's value

·         Builds, leads, and coaches multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles.

·         Develops project plans, budget, milestones, and deliverables; set project goal/objectives establishing priorities

·         Partners with departments to define key success metrics and criteria

·         Ensures all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by CMSD

·         Continually updates relevant internal stakeholders of project status

·         Responsible for the technical, financial, contractual, and on-schedule performance of contracted vendors

·         Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent leadership and team-building skills

·         Strong financial planning and analysis skills

·         Demonstrated skills in problem identification, analysis, research, and resolution.

·         In depth understanding of project management concepts

·         Strong knowledge of scope control methods and change management techniques including developing Statement of Works, Work Break Structure (WBS), project plan, and managing Critical Path metrics

 

 

 

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing various types of projects
• Experience leading projects and programs within and outside IT, as well as projects and programs that involved external providers
• Experience using various project/portfolio management tools (MS Project, Visio, Excel, Clarity, etc.)

 

Education

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
