Mode of Interview:  Telephonic+ Skype   US Citizen Only   JOB DESCRIPTION:   Description Shire's Digital Health and Emerging Technologies organization is looking for a senior technology architect to support the Architecture and Emerging Technology practice. The architect will work in collaboration with Application Architects, Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects to drive Shire's Enterprise Architecture vision and strategy to be a patient centric digital organization that supports business agility and innovation. The technology architect's scope of responsibility and accountability will involve the following: Architecture Strategy: • Develop the strategy and operational processes for implementing Agile technology architecture for Shire that includes Cloud options, DevOps processes and Agile development methodologies to support integration efforts and emerging technology needs • Develop and maintain the target Enterprise Technical Architecture that supports the Business & IT strategic goals and aligns with industry trends • Develop and maintain the Technology Architecture Roadmap and document technical architecture principles and guidelines to be leveraged by the portfolio solutions and enterprise solutions • Identify opportunities for improving agility of IT services and implementation strategies for enterprise and portfolio solutions   Operational Activities: • Provide technology architecture support, to solution vendors/implementation partners, internal operations and project delivery teams • Support governance to ensure adherence to Enterprise Technology Architecture principles, standards and norms • Serve as point of escalation for all Technology Architecture related issues as it relates to emerging technologies, Cloud integrations   Artifacts Development: • Define and maintain technology architecture principles, standards and norms • Define and maintain technology Reference Architectures • Maintain technical artifacts as it relates to business solutions and platforms solutions in the Shire enterprise architecture tool • Define, develop and manage common technology architectural components to support innovative and emerging technology initiatives   Innovation and Emerging Technology Assessment: • Assess technology trends in mobile, cloud, integration and technical architectures • Establish current and future state hardware and software architecture standards. • Maintain broad and deep technical skills in multiple technical domains • Develop and document reference architectures and associated standards • Determine impact of shared service technologies to business, information and application architectures and develop guidelines • Establish cloud technology standard frameworks for external partner integrations     Qualifications:   BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST MINIMALLY MEET THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES LISTED BELOW: • BS Degree in Computer Science or related field & additional technical certifications • Minimum of 10+ year's relevant technical experience • Experience designing / architecting / implementing enterprise level system solutions • Experience with the concept, design, development, deployment, and sustainment of IT enterprise applications, operations, and infrastructure • Experience and visibility with critical SDLC processes, standards, infrastructure, and total system complexities • Excellent oral and written communication skills and must be detail oriented • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with executive level as well as with peers as well as demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills • Expertise in technical architectures and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) • Must be a US Citizen   Preferred Qualifications:   CANDIDATES WITH THESE DESIRED SKILLS WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENTIAL CONSIDERATION:   • Knowledge and experience in evaluation and implementation of Cloud strategies that include PaaS and SaaS hybrid services and Cloud Integration for mobile back end services and IOT • Experience with PaaS providers such as Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services • DevOps/Agile development methodologies to support Mobile and wearable technologies to augment traditional development methodologies • Proven experience leading and directing enterprise solutions, architectures, infrastructure, technology standards, and using enterprise SDLC processes • Proven experience in technical leadership in working with industry and customer experts, formulating advanced concepts, creating technology roadmaps, constructing system & enterprise solutions, and delivering complex implementation.
