Role:Radio frequency Engineer

Location: Midland, TX

JD:

Has design and support responsibilities for the field communication requirements in the Midcontinent region (Texas/Oklahoma/New Mexico/Colorado/Wyoming). The individual will be expected to support the communication requirements for a modern oil/gas or utility customer utilizing Ethernet or TDM based transport. 
Field/Telecommunications RF Engineer will partner with central and regional resources to provide design and support responsibilities for Business Unit field communications. The individual will be expected to support the communication requirements for a modern oil/gas or utility customer utilizing IP/Ethernet and TDM based transport.

 

-In-building RF system experience, such as Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) or WIFI 

-RF = Radio Frequency

-Some specific software experience/training of value – Airmagnet, EDX Signalpro, Mentum, Planet, or Atoll are definitely a plus. These are coverage analysis tools.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Wireless system design using Wimax, CDMA, TDMA, Land-Mobile, and/or LTE protocols
• Machine to Machine cellular wireless network design including MPLS backhaul
• Propagation coverage studies and link budget analysis
• Point-to-Point and Point-to-multipoint microwave systems and network design
• Communications project management and construction supervision including tower installations
• Satellite system link budget analysis and vendor management at a technical level
• Document and drawing creation and review (Visio and/or Autocad)
• Participation at design/project management meetings and conference calls
• Cisco based Wifi deployments and controller programming
• WAN optimization devices for satellite networks
• Routing/switching troubleshooting. CCNA and IT networking (Cisco or Juniper) a plus
• DMZ, firewall, and network security implementation a plus
• System performance monitoring, SNMP, IP, or other basis
