Job Description:

 

Client is in the process of containerizing their services for all of their websites in order to reduce website outages and stabilize the infrastructure. The MetroPSC.com Web Services team is beginning the process of moving their website to Micro Services using Docker. All of Client's websites will be moving to this model, but the MetroPCS website will be one of the first. The people hired for these open roles will have the opportunity to work on the innovation and build out of this process, as well as provide direct input on how this process should take place.

This person will be working directly with the Client's Senior Manager to drive the Micro Services transformation. They will need to understand Docker well enough to provide input and suggestions on how the service should be implemented. Due to the small size of the team, this person will also need to be willing to get their hands dirty and work directly on the transformation. Ideally this candidate has managed a team before, but these skills are trainable if they are willing to learn. The responsibilities of this role will be to assess the current landscape of the web services and drive the transformation to Micro Services, working directly with 2 Java Developer Leads. Client  is in the process of utilizing java as a main development language making this environment very open to input from these developers. As client continues to innovate their environment, they will look to this team to help lead the way from a technical and process standpoint.
