Job Description
Are you passionate about the software application development? Are you interested in providing highly scalable and high quality solutions to your customers? Are you excited to lead and mentor other Developers? Then we want you on the Brilliance Publishing Application Development team, where we're focused on delivering the highest quality solutions on time, and within budget. In this role, you will be both a hands on application developer as well as responsible for assisting and overseeing other developers through all phases of the project lifecycle. You will gather requirements, design solutions, set project timelines, oversee development and development resources, coordinate testing, and insure a seamless implementation. Additionally you will establish best practices and insure compliance to provide the highly consistent and scalable development environment needed to meet the demands of this dynamic and fast growing organization.
People
: Serve as a mentor to other developers on the team.
: Coordinate prioritization of projects, assign and oversee daily/weekly tasks and projects to insure timely completion.
: Coordinate tasks assignments of contract resources as necessary to maximize productivity and solution delivery.
: Identify and plan necessary developmental activities for the developer team.
: Work with individuals across the organization to gather requirements, provide status updates, and coordinate testing and implementation activities.
Process
: Standardize work flows and best practices across the developer team. Propose new practices and process improvements that align with company goals.
: Ensure documentation provided by the team meets or exceeds Amazon.com standards.
: Review project requests and prioritize to maximize efficiency and deliverables.
: Identify and implement new/appropriate technologies, as well as process and code improvements.
: Create solution design documentation and conduct stakeholder review to obtain solution sign-off.
Projects
: Run senior level projects through the entire software development lifecycle to achieve high quality and on time deliverables.
: Ensure all development activities are in compliance with architectural standards.
: Assist developers with the creation of project requirements and related project initiation, documentation, including milestones and project schedules.
Qualifications
: 7+ years of progressive software development in the .NET environment (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server etc.).
: Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving improved development practices within and across an organization.
: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
: Definitive and expansive experience leading projects through the entire software development lifecycle.
: Prior experience leading multi-discipline teams.

: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
: Strong business and technical vision.
: Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
: Excellent analytical skills.
: Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
: Experience with Crystal Reports or similar reporting tool
: Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Solomon
: Experience with MVC and JavaScript
