Urgent need : Devops analyst : Herndon, VA

DevOps Analyst

Location: Herndon, VA

Duration: 12+ Month contract

 

Develop DevOps framework and implement standards, processes, and controls for release and deployment activities

Develop sound version control best practices based on COT CM systems (Clearcase, svn, etc.), including branching and merging strategies

Identify, analyze, coordinate, and resolve environment and infrastructure needs to ensure a smooth running application

Incorporate service reliability and software quality control for releases during SDLC as part of system design develop system managing releases/deployment of code through different environments (Development, Test, Staging, Performance, UAT, Production ), including: Establish and Maintain environment configuration specification and deployment history environments, and communication to all stakeholders including clients Maintain environment stability, including Manage upgrade process – preview environment, sandboxes, staging solution, etc…

Architect and implement metrics required

Coordinate with Infrastructure team in provisioning the environments

Plan and manage releases/deployment of code through different environments (Development, Test, Staging, UAT, Production)

Maintain stack diagrams, configuration information, release history for all environments, and communication to all stakeholders

Manage the production release process and implementation plan that ensures the reliability and availability of the platform

 

Qualifications:

 

String technical knowledge on Informatica, Tibco and Oracle

4 or more years of professional experience in Managing Build and Release engineering, Java development, product development or testing in UNIX environment with a willingness to learn/excel in build and release

Knowledge of SCM concepts (code lines, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)

Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills

Clarity and precision in verbal and written communications

Ability to work with customers, developers, testing, project management, support staff

Familiarity with software development life cycle models and agile programming methodologies

Experience acquiring In-depth understanding of large complex software systems to isolate defects, reproduce defects, assess risk and understand varied customer deployments

·         Good experience with the following tools:

·         Clear Quest

·         iCART

·         Oracle

·         Informatica

·         Tibco, Informatics and other ETL
