Typical Responsibilities include but not limited to: - Analysis and documentation of current technical architecture.
- Lead the design of the next-generation target architecture based on County's IT needs and industry best practices. Own the technical infrastructure strategy including network, server, data performance, security architecture, disaster recovery and processes
- Ensure adherence to principles and standards of architecture through participation in major business and technical projects
- Mentor engineers in best practices for infrastructure design and maintenance
- Maintain corporate standards for technical infrastructure processes
- Identify and lead implementation of industry best practices for infrastructure design and maintenance
- Participate in project reviews for infrastructure enhancements
- Develop a communications plan to share this technical knowledge and direction
- Identify opportunities to improve resource efficiency of business applications through technology, application and database improvements
- Represent the Technical Infrastructure Team at Concept Phase for all strategic implementation projects. Coordinate input from other IT functions (Applications, Network Engineering, Operations, IT Services) as required.
Requirements - Demonstrated experience leading major technical architecture or system design projects
- Must have a strong, hands-on background in technical disciplines such as networking, server configuration, database configurations, Windows & UNIX operating systems, storage, capacity planning and security
- Must have experience with VMWare, Nutanix, UniDesk, TEM, ZenWorks, Solarwinds, VMware View, Simplivity, Okta, and ESSO.
- Experience working directly with application development teams to understand technical requirements and application performance goals
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or equivalent work experience; 4+ years of experience in job specific skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
