Title: Data Modeler

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Trenton, NJ

 

Job Description:

 

Using Erwin 7.3.x, responsibilities would include:

Creating data structures in staging area model for source data (physical only) by Reverse Engineering from source systems.

Creating Logical and Physical 3NF data models in the Data Warehouse.

Creating Index Plan for Data Warehouse to optimize for data updates and insertion.

Creating Logical and Physical Star Schema models for Dependent Data Marts.

Creating Index Plans for Data Marts to optimize for data retrieval by utilizing the Star Transformation capabilities of the ORACLE Cost based Optimizer (Bit Map Indexes).

 

Assist Data Architect in:

Performance and Tuning of Data Marts and working with ETL team to plan strategy for transforming and loading data.

Using Erwin User Defined Procedures (UDPs) to record Source to Target mappings from Staging to Data Warehouse and from Data Warehouse to Data Marts.

All models must comply with the organizations Standards and Naming Conventions.

Some business analysis and user interviews will be required.
