Infrastructure Architect

Houston, TX

6+ Months

Pay Rate: $60 - $65/hr (Max)

 

Sysco has begun planning the systems, technology solutions and integration of a recent planned acquisition, creating a need for comprehensive aligned technology solution architecture. This engagement is structured to assist Sysco in providing Technical architecture support expertise in the selection and design of technical solutions; lead development of appropriate business case and supporting the various application and Enterprise architecture teams. 

This project is focused on supporting the Sysco IT Team in creating a standard set of technical solutions, optimizing, leveraging IT assets where required.   These resources primary role once the knowledge of the IT's architecture strategy's, and Hosting services portfolio is identified, CSG will focus on developing and sustaining a process during the development of changes whether new or changes through the technology life cycle refreshes of the existing systems portfolio. These services, during the (SxLC) Software Life Cycle program provide envisioning, planning, design and construction phase, as well assessing the current state of the technology landscape. These Services are in support of the Sysco Infrastructure Services Core team, providing support in development of an agreed upon architectural solutions across Sysco. 

 

The goal of this engagement is to provide technology architecture support services in support of this initiative, providing leadership, best practice guidance utilizing and Analyzing current as-built architecture and existing technology strategies as a reference models.  This strategy will utilize numerous specific integrations to both existing Sysco Operational platforms as well as the development and implement standard methods for integrating new and evolving external and Sysco technology and IT solutions. 

 

Project Scope

 

The activities in the project are intended as supportive to Sysco's Core and Extended Teams who are performing many of the key activities surrounding the development of the deliverables. As such, any deliverables from this project are the joint responsibility of Sysco and vendor.  Vendor will provide Technical Solution architects services for the duration of this engagement.

 

Activity 1: 

 

In collaboration with the Enterprise  Architect, Service tower leader and in coordination with other 3rd Party Services Providers, the consultant's will review collect existing documented solutions, standards, etc., and identify the critical areas of opportunity ensuring process Standard and guidelines are collected and communication of these technology standards.  

 

1.                    Requirement Definition: Review, advise and  provide management insight on key requirements identified from internal teams and external organizations and vendors

2.                    Program Deliverables: Advise core Team on design of optimal sequencing of technology solutions and process deliverables.

3.                    Program Strategy: Review program objectives and options assisting the leadership team in key decisions.

4.                    Program Timeline:  Assist in the development and execution of the program timeline 

5.                    Program leadership: Ensure appropriate awareness materials exist, Provide awareness training of the Enterprise Systems Management environment and associated processes and solutions on a scheduled or as needed basis, based on client requests.

6.                    Education: Review current progress and advise team on education needs

 

Activity 2:

 

Assist Enterprise Architecture team in the preparation of responsible stakeholders, leaders, and executive sponsors with an appropriate orientation of demand planning facilitating the articulation of a technical solution roadmap for Server and Storage, etc. Services.

1.                    Assist team in the promoting awareness of the platform and processes and associated responsibilities of the solution Architect.

2.                    Work with End User Computing, Hosting and Network Services management to develop a solution inclusive of the following elements.  (prerequisites, requirements, training and awareness, quality, governance, and program planning and implementation guidelines) 

3.                    Review and provide guidance on department readiness and/or individual program and planning documents as required.

4.                    Identify and assist engineering team in usage scenarios design; present scenarios to various stakeholders and clients.

5.                    Review and Identify success measurements, and verify with stakeholders

6.                    Assist with scenarios reviews to test organizational and solution readiness.

7.                    Assist with the development of the operations models and Roles and Responsibilities; Responsible Accountable, Consulted, Informed Matrices (RACI) supporting the above technical, operational and process solutions.

8.                    Provide guidance to Service Delivery team's efforts in development of Service Design, Service Management, Service Reporting, metrics, measurement capabilities, and scorecards supporting the Service Delivery Business initiatives as they pertain to Platform Technology Services and Server and Storage Engineering Services

9.                    Provide recommendations to program leadership to improve the operational planning, strategic alignment of the program to business policies and processes

10.                 Assist with the development of the operations models and Roles and Responsibilities; Responsible Accountable, Consulted, Informed Matrices (RACI) supporting the above technical, operational and process solutions
