Position : Oracle DBA

Job Location: Rockville Maryland, Washington, D.C. Metro
Duration: 2-3 Years
Job Description: Oracle System DBA who will be responsible for maintaining and updating an existing database environment. Responsibilities will include: Database architecture design/implementation, Oracle software installation/upgrade/patching, performance tuning, developing backup/recovery methodology, troubleshooting issues, hardening environments, and implementing advanced Oracle options. The person will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining acceptable performance of the database server infrastructure. The position requires the ability to provide consulting services to a diverse customer base.
Experience and/or skill mix required:
• 7+ years of serving as a System Oracle DBA.
• Proven success in performance optimization for OLTP and OLAP applications
• Analytic ability to make forward thinking database architecture recommendations
• Extensive implementation skills covering a wide range of Oracle database solutions
• Proficient in Data migration and replication tools and methodology.
• Experience working with multiple Operating Systems
• Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems
• Experience working with advanced technologies to include: Data Guard, Transparent Data Encryption, Golden Gate, Materialized Views, Transportable Tablespaces
• Experience with Berkley DB, MySQL, Times Ten In-Memory Database
• Hardening environments in compliance with DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guide
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 11g is a plus.
• Experience serving as an Unix/Linux Administrator
