Job Description	Basic Qualifications: · Typically requires BA/BS or equivalent and 10+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience. · Leads on the formulation and application of strategy. Applies the highest level of management and leadership skills. · Has a deep understanding of the IT industry and the implications of emerging technologies for the wider business environment. · Has a full range of strategic management and leadership skills. Understands, explains and presents complex technical ideas with their impacts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels. · Has a broad and deep subject matter knowledge. · Has authority and responsibility for all aspects of a significant area of work, including policy formation and application. · Is fully accountable for actions taken and decisions made, both by self and subordinates. Responsibilities: · The Application Architect will be responsible for defining how the solution maps to each application and ensure that the integration between the Point of Sale (POS), Payments, and Loyalty applications meet the overall solution for Project Florence at Shell. · Previous experience in solution and technical integration of these applications in a Retail environment is required. · Project Florence will transform the site systems architecture by moving core functionality focused mainly around loyalty/offer management and payments currently maintained within the POS into a centralized service layer. High level project responsibilities include the following: · Participate in requirements gathering sessions • Transform business requirements into application requirements • Define the applications required to operationalize the business imperatives. · Coordinate solution design sessions with multiple application vendors. · Make solution recommendations and drive to decisions regarding solution · Determine and present options to the client if multiple architecture options are available to meet business needs. · Define how the components of all the applications relate to each other including the integration solution architecture. · Own the definition and design of the key application interfaces. · Work closely with the functional architect to incorporate requirements into the integration solution architecture. · Work closely with the technical architecture team to ensure the application components align with the execution and operations architectures and meet application performance goals. · Identify and address application and data issues that affect application integrity. · Identify cross-capability and cross-release issues that affect the business architecture integrity. · Work with other system specific application architects to ensure their application components align with a specific architecture component and meet performance goals. · Identify risks and assumptions associated with the applications. · Own accountability for the completion of the solution architecture deliverable
