The primary activity of this individual is to manage the requirements for the project. This includes both modification of existing requirements and creation of new requirements as determined by the team, but also the back end of what I consider a BA role… helping the developers and QA teams to interpret the requirements when needed. The only difference between this and what might be considered a traditional BA role would be where this project is at… in that many of the requirements already exist. So it's more of an improve, maintain and supplement as opposed to starting from scratch.
Job Description:
Serve as a liaison between the business and software development team to architect workflows and identify the best solution to meet the business needs. Work with team to define and maintain detailed requirements. Translate requirements and use cases to the developers ensuring there is a clear and concise understanding of requirements. Work within cross functional teams to formulate and interpret requirements into functional specifications, use cases, test scenarios and workflow/process maps. Provide deep functional expertise of systems capabilities and architecture and articulate systems functionality to business and commercialization teams. Participate in task prioritization and scheduling. Work closely with broader project team to clearly align schedule and program deliverables.
Major Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with Project Management/Development/QA teams to meet project deliverables.
Work closely with on-shore & off-shore development teams ensuring alignment of tasks and deliverables Work with software development team to review, assign and schedule development activities.
Ensure compliance to division SOPs and best practices.
Basic Qualifications:
BS Degree in CS, MIS, or related field
Clear concise communication - both written & oral Facilitation skills Knowledge of software development tools, processes & technologies.
Minimum 3 years experience with full Software Development Life Cycle (requirements through implementation) Minimum 7 years experience in requirements analysis, process design and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with embedded, mobile, web & PC based application development Medical Device Software Business Analyst Experience Experience doing Quality Assurance / Functional Testing Experience with ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) tools (i.e. Microsoft Team Foundation Server) Experience with Requirements Management Tools (i.e. HP Quality Center) Ability to work well with diverse teams both technical and non-technical in nature Experience with programming / report development Ability to develop timelines and development schedules Data Analysis and the ability to read and understand data models.
