A-Systems is looking for OS/DB Certified SAP BASIS Consultant at Northbrook, IL.

Role Description: OS/DB Certified Consultant

Duration: 6 Months

Days per Week: 5

Role Location: Northbrook, IL

 

Scope of Tasks:

 

OS/DB Consultant will assist the Allstate project team with the following:1. Development of overall project planning

and project governance2. Development and validation of project blueprint3. Data Base Implementation and migration4.

Project Final Prep & Go Live 5. The SAP OS/DB Consultant will not be responsible for delivering project milestones or

project deliverables

 

Allstate is currently working on an SAP database migration initiative that involves the migration from Solaris/Unix

to Linux.  Allstate understands that SAP requires customers to have an OS/DB certified consultant involved in this

type of activity.  Require an SAP OS/DB consultant? Allstate has an entire project team staffed with a project

manager, DBAs, BASIS and QC resources.  Allstate needs external consulting services from an OS/DB certified resource

during the April to August timeframe (may not be a full-time resource, but someone to provide guidance as the

certified consultant).   High-Level Timeline:• Late March/April migrate sandboxes• April- May  migrate development,

stage and shadow systems• June-Aug migrate production systems Technical Information:• 40 SAP databases to migrate

(non-production & production)• Currently using oracle 11.2.0.4 and planning to use the same version, but with latest

patch set from SAP.• Straight DB migration using transportable table-spaces method to migrate • No Unicode migration

with this effort Would you be able to help point us in the right direction in terms of engaging OS/DB certified

consultant and getting an estimate? Allstate decided to take a slightly different approach which involves a straight

database migration (no Unicode conversion).  Please let us know if we should reach out to him directly or if you have

other resources that we should work with for this type of request.  In addition to the consulting services, we are

planning to work with SAP on the required check services for OS/DB migration (before and after production migration).
