Candidates must have UI/UX Design & development experience with iOS. If they do not have the iOS experience, they will not be considered.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will serve as a UI/UX programmer/developer for iOS Mobile Computing solutions for PennDOT. The candidate must possess demonstrable UI/UX experience. The candidate will serve as a software developer for the projects to develop and deploy the comprehensive custom software solutions for the iOS-based mobile devices to be utilized by PennDOT while assisting with mentoring PennDOT staff assigned to the projects. The projects will involve working with the iOS mobile development and design tools (Sketch, etc…) relational databases, and web service-oriented client/server architecture. The selected candidate is expected to understand the business and technical requirements, and implement the solutions based on those requirements. The selected candidate should be quick at learning newer versions of the SDK, as they are made available by Apple.
Specific Duties within UI/UX:
Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to technical team
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps with responsive UI to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
Collaborate with Project Team( Business Analysts and Technical Architects) to define and implement innovative solutions for the project direction, visuals and experience
Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
Analytical experience
Experience with Apple Human Interface Guidelines
Specific Duties within iOS:
Participate in design and coding of application-embedded, scheduled and ad-hoc reporting solutions.
Comprehensive understanding and experience designing, developing and testing for the Apple iOS platform is mandatory.
Expert level knowledge is required of using iOS frameworks related to UI, Core Data, storyboards, web services, security/keychain, camera integration, asynchronous/background processing, multitasking, etc.
Meet with end users and technical staff of all types to gather business and system requirements.
Provide technical assistance and assist with mentoring of PennDOT staff assigned to the project.
All projects follow the Agile sprint methodology, and the selected candidate should be comfortable with daily standups, sprint grooming and planning activities, integration testing, and UAT.
Work independently and as a part of a team.
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards with reusable UI perspective.
