Title: Sybase DBA

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Houston, TX

 

Job Description:

 

A minimum of 5 years of relevant DBA experience
An ADVANCED level Database Administrator, with a strong skill-set in at least 2 from Oracle, SQL Server or Sybase (as detailed below).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Oracle
strong Oracle 10g and 11gR2 database skills
 advanced experience in using RMAN and DataGuard
use of Automatic Storage Management (ASM) in a replicated SAN environment
Oracle RAC skills would be considered highly advantageous
skills in Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Oracle database upgrades and application of quarterly Oracle CPU/PSU patches
SQL tuning and monitoring via AWR or tuning/diagnostics pack

SQL Server
strong SQL Server 2005 and 2008 skills
knowledge of SQL Server mirroring, Windows and/or Veritas clustering
some SQL Server replication skills
exposure to SQL Server Reporting, Integration and Analysis Services would be considered highly advantageous

Sybase
Strong ASE 12.5, 15.0 and 15.5 database skills
Sybase tuning using MDA tables
Sybase Replication Server and/or Sybase IQ skills would be considered highly advantageous
