Purpose of Role

The JAVA developer will join a team of architects, developers, and designers to create user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java based components and interfaces.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Assist in the implementation of new clearing/ risk management applications using JAVA and Web application technologies including Spring MVC, JAVA, DB2, JSP, and Servlets

·         Participate in enhancing/ extending existing architecture framework

·         Ensure user requirements are being met, develops new client-side plug-ins, and promotes coding patterns that improve the maintainability of JAVA code

·         Actively develop new batch applications and maintenance of existing ones

 

Technical Requirements

·         Basic Java language constructs and features (conditional and looping statements, exception handling, variable scope, etc.)

·         Multi-threading and concurrency

·         Memory management

·         Collections framework

·         Tuning and debugging

·         Patterns and their implementation in Java

·         Test driven development

·         Garbage collection

·         RMI

·         Messaging

·         SQL

·         Spring framework

·         UNIX/Linux

·         Caching

·         Bitwise operators

·         Low level file IO

·         Ant

·         Eclipse IDE

·         XML

·         Version control

·         JMX
