Responsibilities
* Define project scope, goals, project success criteria and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders
* Lead the planning and implementation of project
* Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents (i.e. status reporting)
* Identify and manage changes in project scope, project dependencies and critical path. Propose alternatives to mitigate
* Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
* Prepare the stakeholder to receive the solution and understand the impact to their organization and current status
* Create and manage measurement systems to track schedule, cost, quality, risks, resource utilization, etc.
* Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
* Create and manage a project forecast and budget
* Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and escalate accordingly
* Determine and assess need for additional staff and initiate recruitments if necessary
* For any new personnel, ensure that the selected candidates receive orientation, training, and communication of job expectations
* Ensure project deliverables utilize appropriate CPDEP principles and comply with Chevron standards
* Engage stakeholders for project input and involvement to ensure deliverables meet customer expectations and stakeholders are represented though out the different project phases
* Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
* Ensure effective long term support processes are set up
* Conduct project look backs and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
* Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Skills
* Must be able to deliver work efficiently through formal and informal channels and display broad understanding of business practices and policies
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively across departments, divisions, functions, cultures and levels in a large global company
* Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal. Strong ability to manage customer expectations
* Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and time line through analytical and problem-solving and root cause identification skills
* Capable of leading enterprise level initiatives by demonstrating proficiency in the foundational competencies (skills, knowledge and behaviors) and an expert level mastery of the project management advanced competencies
* Must be a team player and able to work with and through others. Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization
* Strong facilitation, coaching, motivation, and team management skills
* Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise
