Job Summary: 

 

The SAP BW Developer is a key role in the Enterprise Business Intelligence Technical Services and Architecture team .Develop and enhance SAP BW data models , BW Integrations to support  BW reporting, data content and and BW reports using Business Objects and other interfaces for the next generation datawarehouse

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for designing, developing and supporting the SAP Business Warehouse including InfoObjects, InfoCubes, DSO Objects, DataSources, User Exits, InfoSources, Update & Transfer Rules, and Communication Structures
• Develop/build custom info objects, InfoProviders, transformations in BW based on technical designs.
• Analyze business requirements, needs and objectives and map them to SAP BW / BO processes, solutions and products that are being implemented
• Design and create BW/BI Generic Extractors from the ERP system and other SAP ECC modules
• Hands on analysis and improvements of existing production processes such as data extraction, data acquisition, query performance and data design.
• Advocates and enforces applicable standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in the implementation and/or maintenance of application or application modules
• Translates business requirements into SAP ECC Extractor processes ( SD , MM, FI and PM)
• Lead BW  layer Unit and Integration Testing activities and assist in User Acceptance Testing as needed
• Work closely with end users to produce prototypes of Business Analytics solutions
• Work closely with project Business Analyst, Data Architect and BW Developers to ensure that the end to end designs meet the business and data requirements
• Work closely with Project Manager to develop and update the task plan for BI/BW work and to keep the manager aware of any critical task issues and dependencies on other TEIS teams

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

·      Minimum of 5 – 9  Years of Experience with SAP BW development tools ( BW Administrator Workbench ,InfoObjects, DSO, InfoCubes, InfoPackages, InfoSources, Datasources, Extractors, Transfer Rules, Update Rules)

·      Minimum of 5 Years' Experience with SAP BW version 7.0/7.3 Data Modeling

·      Design and development of data extracts from SAP ECC (SD, MM) and non-SAP systems 

·      Hands-on Experience with ABAP programming is required

·         Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus ( ABAP Objects , BADI's ,  List Viewer (ALV) , Dialog Programming)

·      Experience with SAP HANA would be a big plus

·      Experience with SAP Business Objects Data Services (BODS) is desired

·      Experience with SAP Business Objects reporting tools is a plus

 

EDUCATION:

·         BS / BA in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or Equivalent

 

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with a track record of project completion
