Job Title : Java Flex Developer
Location: : NYC, NY
Duration : 12+ Months
The Foreign Exchange (FX) Technology team is responsible for the core technologies providing trade capture and risk management for the FX business – traders and salespeople. For salespeople, the technology team provides applications allowing them to price and execute trades agreed with clients, and to view clients' trades, positions and revenues.
There is a new business initiative this year to build a series of tools to assist the FX sales force in tracking and managing sales campaigns and their interactions with clients, and directly linking these campaigns and interactions to revenue generated.
This effort will require development of new UI components and supporting server-side infrastructure for the salespeople sourcing data from a number of backend systems, as well as creating new data repositories to model business-specific sales campaigns and client feedback.
The candidate in this new role, of FX Sales Java Developer, will have the following responsibilities:
· Working directly with the FX Sales organization to understand their requirements and to partner with them to deliver application components to meet these requirements
· Hands on design, development, testing and deployment of serverside components supporting the business – development of data services, preparation of data for presentation in the UI.
· Working closely with colleagues in the FX technology team and other technology teams to integrate with new and existing enterprise data sources
· Providing support for the desk with application and infrastructure questions or issues.
To support these responsibilities, FX technology team members must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must be able to work collaboratively with other senior developers and with the sales and trading desks directly. Meeting deadlines and delivering results to the business and to the rest of the team is paramount, as is having a strong sense of ownership and commitment.
· professional development experience: 5+ years
· Strong core java development experience: 3+ years
· Relational database experience (preferably DB2 and/or Sybase): 3+ years
· communication: able to express ideas clearly and concisely
· Knowledge of fundamentals of CRM systems
· Experience with data warehousing and MIS systems
· Experience with Foreign Exchange or fixed income trading systems
· Working experience with Flex
