Work Location : San Diego, CA
Duration of assignment (in Months) : 6+ months

Technical/Functional Skills
Mandatory:
• Experience in Data analytics, log analysis, anomaly detection
• Expertise in using Splunk tool
• Strong in statistics, DataMining, Data analysis, Machine learning, Data Visualization & Communication
• Expertise in R and Python programming
• Working experience with data bases like MySQL, postgreSQL, Mongo DB
• Master at Microsoft office Excel pivot tables, and producing basic data visualizations
• Fair in analyzing data and find conclusions.
• Understanding machine learning methods like k-nearest neighbors, random forests, ensemble methods
• Deep understanding in Telecom/Network systems (like Broadband service) and network data
• Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
• Knowledge in networking protocols and technologies (TCP, UDP, routing, VLAN, VPN, multicast, BGP, firewalls, access lists, tunneling, traffic shapers, DHCP etc)
• Experience with the use of Network Monitoring Systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical material to a variety of audiences
• Fluency in English
Desirable:
• Experience in System Engineering, Integration Testing of IP based networking systems
• Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
• Exposure to Big data tool like Hadoop, Hive, Pig
• Working with RF or satellite communications
• Experience in Wi-Max technology systems
• Prior experience with CRM and defect tracking systems, such as Salesforce or JIRA
• Network Broadcast experience
• Knowledge with RabbitMQ software
• Understanding of with one or more of the following: Ansible, Jenkins, Artifcatory, GitHub
Experience Required
• 4+ years' experience in Data science and analysis
• 2+ years' experience working with Linux/Unix
Roles & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, and will possess a strong background managing and troubleshooting both hardware and software elements involved in IP networking, satellite communications, and/or cloud services.
Strong background in UNIX/LINUX configuration, and ability to capture and interpret network traces strongly preferred.
This role also participates in routine monitoring of overall network service quality, and analysis of data in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders, and must be able to communicate effectively in English with diverse audiences including engineering teams, program management, customers, and third party partners & suppliers.
This role must be comfortable working both as part of a global team, and independently as a remote resource.
Prior experience being working in a remote/virtual team is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively.
Ability to take ownership and complete all tasks on schedule.
High degree of project management skills in order to plan, prioritize and execute new and expanding systems requirement
