Title: Sr. Database Developer (Oracle and MS SQL)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Duration: Long Term

Skill sets:

·         Has 6-8 years of experience in MS SQL development and database Administration, MS SQL certification is a plus

·         4-6 years of experience in enterprise data migration from Oracle to SQL server 2008 database

·         Has Created complex DTS/SSIS Packages for Data Migration and Transformation.

·         Candidate must be able to demonstrate from prior experiences the methodologies, Strategies, Plans, Tools and Risks for such enterprise level data migrations. Strong experience in complete ETL cycle including data analysis, extraction, transformation, database design, data mapping and conversion and data load.

·         Experience in designing and developing SQL data warehouse and data marts from the scratch, user control, jobs, security contro etc

·         Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, security issues etc.

·         Experience in query optimization & performance tuning.

 

·         Data Migration:

1. Assist in designing, planning and managing the data migration process.
2. Prepare data migration plans including migration risk and milestones
3. Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the data migration plan.
4. Develop best practice, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities.
5. Perform source system data analysis in order to manage source to target data mapping.
6. Perform migration and testing of static data and transaction data from Oracle to SQL 2008
7. Perform data migration audit, reconciliation and exception reporting.

 

Attributes:

·         Has very strong background in a disciplined software development life cycle (SDLC) process and has excellent analytical, programming and problem solving skills.

·         Possess support experience, ability to independently handle issues, timely resolution and ownership

·         Excellent Teamwork and Communication

·         Consistently delivers expected results/deliverables on scheduled target dates.

·         Requires little to moderate supervision to accomplish defined goals and objectives.

·         Can work in a fast-paced environment, Good team player and can work independently.
